Such
studies examine the validity of Q.E.D. in energy regions where it has
never been tested. Possible deviations from predictions of this well
established theory can provide us with new insight towards a theory
unifying the fundamental interactions. The discovery of excited
particles offers new possibilities, as it can be a signature of a
deeper level in the structure of matter, leading to new interesting
phenomena.
Within this topic, work is performed on the analysis of:
events,
leading to the extraction of direct limits for various Q.E.D. cutoff
parameters and for the mass of the excited electron. These studies are
performed by the use of many different statistical methods to extract
the final results.
